Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your accommodation in Karen. Enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure. (Overnight at Karen Coffee Garden Inn on a full-board basis)

After an early breakfast and safari briefing, embark on a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve. This unique reserve is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. Over the next few days, you’ll focus on locating lions, leopards, and the abundant elephant population that inhabits this arid landscape.

Your expert guide will lead you to the most rewarding locations for sightings and provide in-depth information about the unique wildlife and environment. (Overnight at Samburu Intrepid Lodge on a full-board basis)

After breakfast, journey to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, nestled at the foothills of Mount Kenya. This renowned conservancy boasts one of the highest densities of black and white rhinos in Africa.

Enjoy game drives in search of these magnificent creatures, along with lions, buffalos, and diverse birdlife, all against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kenya. (Overnight at Sanctuary Tambarare)

Descend into the Great Rift Valley and explore the Lake Naivasha region. This picturesque lake is a haven for diverse birdlife, including majestic fish eagles and elegant egrets. Embark on a scenic walk on Crescent Island, where you can encounter grazing animals such as zebras and giraffes. Alternatively, venture into Hell’s Gate National Park for an exhilarating bike ride through dramatic volcanic landscapes or explore the fascinating gorge.

Enjoy game drives and sundowners in Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as bush breakfasts, hill climbs, and boat rides on Lake Naivasha. (Overnight at Chui Lodge)

Embark on the final leg of your journey to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. Immerse yourself in the vast plains teeming with wildlife, including the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, and much more. Spend four days exploring this iconic landscape, capturing unforgettable moments and experiencing the thrill of a classic African safari.

Community Interaction: While in the Mara, visit Olive Seed Foundation projects in Sekenani and Aitong to learn about their community development initiatives.
