Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spanning an impressive 1,978 square kilometers across western Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park is the country’s most celebrated safari destination, renowned for its extraordinary diversity of landscapes and wildlife. From sweeping golden savannahs and tranquil crater lakes to lush forests and expansive wetlands, the park unfolds as a magnificent tapestry of nature, home to more than 95 mammal species and over 600 species of birds.

Among its most iconic experiences is the opportunity to encounter the legendary tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, an enchanting spectacle found against the backdrop of some of Uganda’s most dramatic wilderness. Along the shimmering Kazinga Channel, leisurely boat cruises offer an intimate view of Africa’s wildlife, with elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and crocodiles gathering along the water’s edge. Beyond the park, the majestic Rwenzori Mountains rise on the horizon, adding a breathtaking sense of grandeur to the landscape.

Every corner of Queen Elizabeth National Park invites discovery. Venture across the Kasenyi Plains on a private game drive in search of lions and Uganda kobs; journey into the ancient Kyambura Gorge for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience; or explore the park’s diverse habitats in search of its remarkable birdlife. For a deeper connection with the region, cultural excursions to the historic salt pans of Lake Katwe offer a fascinating glimpse into the traditions and livelihoods of local communities.

With its extraordinary wildlife, spectacular scenery, and wealth of immersive experiences, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a truly refined African safari where untamed wilderness meets unforgettable elegance and adventure.
