Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve, set along the Ewaso Nyiro River in northern Kenya, is an exceptional wilderness destination spanning 165 km². Known for its dramatic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and more than 450 bird species, the reserve is especially celebrated for the rare Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, and gerenuk.

The surrounding Buffalo Springs and Shaba reserves, together with private conservancies such as Kalama, offer a more exclusive safari experience, from intimate game drives and night excursions to meaningful cultural encounters with the Samburu people. Combining rare wildlife, striking scenery, and authentic culture, Samburu offers a distinctive and unforgettable safari escape.
